Kalimera (καλημέρα)
"Good morning" in Greek — the universal warm greeting until early afternoon.
Kalimera (καλημέρα) is the standard Greek greeting from sunrise until roughly 14:00, after which "kalispera" (καλησπέρα — good evening) takes over. Drivers use it instinctively when you climb in; reciprocating is one of the easiest ways to start the journey warmly.
Other handy openers: efharistó (thank you), parakaló (please / you're welcome), siga siga (slowly slowly — useful when carrying luggage).
